Honor and Valor Alaska (HAVA) is a community-centered organization dedicated to building a healing village for veterans, families, seniors, and individuals facing hardship across Alaska. Founded through lived experience and years of witnessing gaps in support systems, HAVA was created to provide practical stabilization services while restoring dignity, safety, and long-term community connection.
Our mission is to develop sustainable, accessible, and healing-centered spaces that meet both immediate and long-term needs through transitional housing, safe campground infrastructure, laundry and shower facilities, community gathering spaces, food access initiatives, and supportive programming designed to strengthen individuals and families as a whole.
HAVA believes true healing requires more than temporary shelter. We believe people thrive when they have access to stability, community, practical resources, and opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity and support. Our vision focuses on creating a village model where individuals are not simply processed through systems, but welcomed into a supportive environment designed to encourage growth, accountability, independence, and connection.
Rooted in Alaska values of resilience, community, and mutual support, HAVA seeks to bridge the gap between emergency assistance and long-term stabilization by developing phased, sustainable programs and revenue-generating community infrastructure that can continue serving future generations.
Our long-term vision includes accessible housing options, community-centered gathering spaces, campground and RV infrastructure, family support services, vocational opportunities, food and agriculture initiatives, and restorative environments where veterans, survivors, seniors, and families can find safety, purpose, and belonging.
Honor and Valor Alaska exists to help build the village we know many people need — because it is the village we once needed too.
